The Arizona Charter Schools Association is a nonprofit membership and professional organization that advocates and strengthens the autonomy, equity, and quality of Arizona’s diverse public charter schools. Founded in 1995, the Association is dedicated to supporting Arizona’s thriving public charter school sector. Since its inception, the Association has served as an innovative leader in transforming public education for Arizona’s 1.1 million students.
Driven by the belief that all Arizona students should have access to a high quality public school, the Association is focused on creating and sharing innovative programs designed to support leaders and teachers as they work to improve student achievement.

Arizona Charter Schools - Expanding Opportunities since 1996
Public charter schools have delivered on the promise to provide a wide array of educational options for students and parents in Arizona, simultaneously raising the bar for academic achievement in the state. Here are some of the accomplishments of charter schools:
- 68% of public charter schools that received a letter grade in 2019 – the last year of available data before the COVID-19 pandemic – earned an “A” or “B” rating
- Public charter students of every race and ethnicity have outpaced the state average in state testing results in almost every sub-group including those from low-income communities, students of color, and others, for four straight years
- Since inception, the public charter sector enrollment has grown at an average rate of about 16% per year
Contributions to the Arizona Charter Schools Association, an organization tax-exempt under Code Section 501(c)(3), qualifies for a charitable contribution deduction.
